Jenette Smith

Dr. Smith’s career in health care education includes serving in teaching and leadership positions in higher education, inclusive higher education, and nonprofit organizations serving individuals with disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and the elderly.

Jenette currently serves as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization serving individuals with disabilities and the elderly and on the Clarkson College Alumni Board of Directors. She writes and publishes in the areas of health education, health promotion, lifestyle medicine, and global health, and presents at professional conferences.

In addition, she is a champion of lifestyle medicine, and believes in the mission of lifestyle medicine to integrate and promote evidence-based medicine for all.

Dr. Smith currently teaches in the Doctor in Health Care Education and Leadership program at Clarkson College, including serving as dissertation research chair.

Education/Certifications/Training

Dr. Smith obtained the Doctor in Health Care Education and Leadership degree from Clarkson College, an educational partner of Nebraska Medicine, in May 2020. In November 2020, Dr. Smith completed the coursework/examination in lifestyle medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, in conjunction with the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine, obtaining the Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional, DipACLM. In addition, Dr. Smith holds a Master of Science degree in Health Education/Studies in Aging from the University of North Texas.

Personal

Dr. Smith lives in Colorado with her family, and loves to hike in our beautiful Colorado mountains, play the piano and, most of all, spend time with her lovely family.
